STEP ONE: IMAGE Lay the canvas mural face down on a clean surface
| STEP TWO: IMAGE Obtain the interlocking stretcher strips in the size mentioned in
the listing. These can be bought from your local art store, or online at intoart.com (THE ONE I USE) Just type "strecther
strip" in the search box. Or go to Currys.com
or click HERE. Or be creative, make the painting into a wallhanging,
room divider, etc... There are endless possibilities! |
STEP THREE: IMAGE With your staplegun, fold the north side of the canvas down and into place. Now put ONE staple in the very middle of that stretcherbar. This is to hold the canvas into place.
STEP FOUR: IMAGE Firmly tug the south end of the canvas and fold upward, tacking a staple in the very middle of the stretcherbar. Now the north and south are aligned.
STEP FIVE: IMAGE Fold the west (left) side of the canvas over, and place a staple in the very middle of the stretcherbar. Only one more to go!!!!!
STEP SIX: IMAGE Fold the East side (right) over the stretcherbar, tugging firmly, and tacking a staple in the very middle of the stretcherbar. The canvas should be tacked into place , take a peek on all sides and make sure everything is lined up correctly.
STEP SEVEN: IMAGE Firmly tug all the way around the canvas and staple into place starting beside an already existing staple in the middle of a stretcherbar, and work your way around.
STEP EIGHT: IMAGE 1 and IMAGE 2 Fold each corner in life giftwrap, and staple into place
STEP NINE: IMAGE 1 and IMAGE 2 The whole canvas is ready to go. Take scissors and trim the extra canvas off so that the painting will hang flat on the wall. And YOU'RE DONE! If there are any dents or funny marks in the canvas just take a wet sponge and wet the funky spot ONLY. Do not wet the entire canvas. It will tighten and warp the stretcherbars. The funky spot will become tighter and more flat every time you appy this technique.
